Community Notice: Fire Training Exercise Alert!

We wanted to inform you about an upcoming event at the Prince George Airport that may cause some concern, but rest assured, it’s all in the name of safety and preparedness!

Today, July 2, 2024, YXS will be conducting a Fire Training session at our facility. These exercises are crucial for emergency response teams to stay sharp and ready to protect our region and beyond in case of emergencies.

During these exercises, you may notice black clouds of smoke rising from the airport vicinity this afternoon. We understand this can be alarming, especially given the recent wildfires in British Columbia. Please note that this smoke is part of our controlled training activities and does not pose any threat to the public.
