Incident at the Prince George Airport
The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) is aware of the incident that occurred on December 25, 2024, at the Prince George Airport. We are actively cooperating with law enforcement and have provided CCTV footage to assist in their investigation.
We understand the public’s concerns, especially as this marks the second incident of this nature in 2024. Please rest assured that the safety and security of our passengers, employees, and visitors remain our highest priority. We are committed to working closely with the authorities to address this matter and to continually strengthen our safety measures.
In a statement issued by RCMP on January 3, “. . . the passenger in a taxi brandished a knife at the driver and demanded to be driven out of province. The taxi driver stopped in front of the airport and got out of the vehicle. The suspect then got into the driver’s seat and drove away from the airport in the taxi. Thankfully, the driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident.”
More information can be found on the Prince George RCMP website.
As this is an ongoing investigation, we encourage all further inquiries to be directed to the RCMP. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
