Library and YXS Partner to Enhance Traveller Experience
*Released by the PG Public Library*
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) and the Prince George Public Library have partnered to enhance the experience of travellers departing from the Prince George Airport (YXS). The new partnership will see signs displayed in the airport’s Departures Lounge encouraging travellers to take advantage of online library card registration, and to access the library’s digital collections of eBooks, audiobooks, streaming music, magazines and newspapers.
“When the Library first approached us with this idea we were thrilled as it gives travellers who are looking for reading material thousands of options right at their fingertips” said PGAA Marketing Manager Lindsay Cotter. “This is another step in the right direction when it comes to partnering with great community groups and enhancing the customer experience at YXS.”
The library launched online library card registration in the fall and the service makes it possible for patrons who register for a library card to have immediate access to all of the library’s online databases such as OverDrive Libraries, PressReader and Zinio.
While the PGAA offers complimentary newspapers, there are few other options for travellers who find themselves looking for something to read. Using the airport’s complimentary WiFi, patrons can download eBooks and other materials to their device to read offline during their flight.
