PGAA Wins North American Marketing and Communications Award
Prince George, BC- The Prince George Airport Authority has been named a winner in the Airports Council International – North America’s 2009 Excellence in Marketing & Communications Contest. This year’s contest, judged by 31 individuals, had nearly 250 entries from 62 airport members in the U.S. and Canada.
The PGAA earned first place in the Annual Report category. This project’s central goal was to reconnect with the community by focusing on YXS passengers and their stories. By creating emotional moments through photography, the “What’s Your Story” theme provides an effective basis to carry messages out into the community.
“We are extremely honored to be the recipient of this award. This not only provides us with International exposure, but also showcases Prince George and our community. As a small Airport, this allows our message and product to be heard across the industry to Airports of all sizes”, states John Gibson, President and CEO for the PGAA.
The “What’s Your Story” Annual Report speaks to an audience of community interests and passengers. It was meant to not only summarize the Airport’s economic and development performance, but also to emphasize an emotional connection with the people who use YXS.
“Every day, thousands of personal stories unfold within our terminal and the Annual Report helps highlight how the Airport plays an integral role in people’s lives and in our community”, says Mike Davis, Manager of Communications and Business Development for the PGAA.
“This is the result of hard work put forth my many individuals, including Splash Media Group (SMG) and Alex Zander Photography. SMG continually puts our vision in motion by creating solid brand marketing specific to our community”, finished Davis.
A multimedia presentation acknowledging all winners will be showcased at the ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition Chairman’s Honors Luncheon on October 14 in Austin, TX. In addition to the presentation, the winning entries will be on display in the Exhibition Hall during the conference in Austin. All winning entries will also be on display at the 2010 Marketing and Communications Conference in San Diego, CA in June 2010.
