Prince George Airport Authority Announces Gordon Duke’s Retirement
Prince George, BC – The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) announced today that CEO and President Mr. Gordon Duke will retire at the end of this year, with his final day set for December 31, 2024.
Mr. Duke joined the PGAA in 2019, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the aviation industry. Throughout his tenure, Gordon demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the organization through unprecedented challenges and building lasting relationships within the community, including a meaningful partnership with the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.
“Gordon has been a steady and dedicated leader during a time of significant change,” said Derek Dougherty, Board Chair of PGAA. “His commitment to the success of the airport and its community has been exemplary. As we prepare for his departure, the Board has formed a search committee to identify our next CEO, a task we do not take lightly.”
Reflecting on his time at PGAA, Mr. Duke expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve. “It has been a privilege to lead the Prince George Airport Authority over the past five years,” said Duke. “I am deeply proud of the progress we have made as an organization, and the incredible partnerships we’ve formed. While I look forward to new chapters in my life, I will always cherish my time at PGAA and the community that supported our journey.”
The Board will begin the CEO search process in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
