Services Expand at YXS
Prince George, BC—A couple of airlines that operate out of the Prince George Airport have increased their services due to high passenger numbers out of YXS. In total, four flights between Central Mountain Air and Air Canada have been added per week.
President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA), John Gibson says “we have been in discussion with these carriers to increase their schedule and get more seats in the marketplace. We are glad to see they have responded with more flights out of Prince George.”
Central Mountain Air has doubled their service to Fort St. John on Thursday and Fridays by adding an afternoon flight. Air Canada has also increased their service to Vancouver on Saturdays and Sundays.
PGAA Marketing Manager, Lindsay Cotter says “passenger numbers are up 2% month over month in October. That is a huge accomplishment as last year there were nine additional flights to Las Vegas out of YXS during that month.”
Passenger numbers so far in 2012 are up 5% year over year. The PG Airport Authority believes the all-time record for passenger traffic will break in 2012. Currently the record stands at 417,484 passengers, set in 2008.
