WestJet Increases Service to Vancouver
Prince George, BC – Starting September 19th, WestJet will be adding an additional flight between Prince George (YXS) and Vancouver (YVR) bringing the total to five flights Monday through Friday.
Prince George Airport Authority President and CEO, John Gibson, says “we kept hearing from the public that WestJet flights were full so we worked with them to increase their service levels. With five flights a day to Vancouver, WestJet is now where they were earlier this year in terms of service to YVR.”
“We are pleased to respond to the needs of communities that we serve by delivering choice, low fares and a great guest experience for Canadian travellers, “ says Lee Lipton, WestJet Director Network and Schedule Planning. “Schedule improvements for Prince George help support its economic growth and also allow for greater convenience when connecting to the WestJet network within Canada, the US and internationally.”
“Getting people to Prince George earlier in the day allows them to do a full days’ worth of business. The early departure time out of YVR allows travellers to skip the morning rush hour on the roads in Vancouver, while the departure out of YXS at 7:45am is a prime time flight for Prince George residents destined to YVR and beyond” says Gibson.
The additional flight is already available to book. Also in the reservation system is the continuation of the non-stop flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico out of Prince George. The “Snow to Sand” flight takes off every Saturday from October 29th 2016 to April 29th 2017.
